The debates of the plenary session of this Tuesday, April 03, 2019, resulted in the adoption at second reading, of 4 bills. The texts had already been adopted by the National Assembly, which, as part of the parliamentary shuttle, transmitted them to members of the upper house.

These include the draft law ratifying the ordinance of 20 December 2018, amending and supplementing some provisions of the Law of 20 December 2017 on the Financial Act of the Republic of Cameroon for the financial year 2018. An order by the Head of State, Paul Biya, to extend the budget for the year 2018 and defended in Parliament by the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze.

Senators also adopted the bill authorizing the President of the Republic to ratify the African Charter of Values ​​and Principles of Decentralization, Local Governance and Development. A mechanism of the African Union aiming at supporting local authorities in the transition from centralized management to decentralized management and in the promotion of citizen management of public affairs.

Another text adopted, the bill authorizing the President of the Republic to ratify the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Cameroon and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Indeed, this project concerns the exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic, official or service passports.
