Cameroon: The MRC wants to march for peace

The peaceful march is organized in support of Mamadou Mota. The declaration document has already been signed and deposited in the relevant departments. Boutché believes that it is legitimate for the MRC to lend its full support to Mamadou Yakouba Mota. The objective of the march of October 20, 2019 is to obtain, the stop of the legal proceedings against the 1st vice-president of the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon. Mota was thrown into prison in the context of the challenges of the 2018 Presidential election.

Mamadou Mota is a Cameroonian politician and current vice-president of the MRC. Following the arrest of Maurice Kamto and his allies on January 26, 2019, the Cameroon Renaissance Movement developed a bailout plan to ensure the conduct of day-to-day affairs. This is how Mamadou Mota was chosen by his comrades to carry the torch of protest. Unfortunately, the one who was considered as the spare wheel of Kamto's party, finally found himself in court.

In the aftermath of the presidential gesture, the Kamto Movement made a statement in these terms: "At the moment when the power has just announced" the discontinuation of pending prosecutions before the Military Tribunals, against some leaders and activists of political parties and especially the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC) ", our first thought goes to our allies, comrades and sympathizers. We think in particular of our friend, our brother of weapon, Mamadou Yakouba Mota. "
